Arch Repaintable

Paint poured over design lamps to showcase custom coloring. Made with Blender, Liquigen and composited in After Effects.

The challenge was to choose the right colors to match brand profile and still stand out a bit. The main focus was to showcase how the customer can repaint their existing designs into new colors. My first thought was to do a liquid animation as i recently started exploring Liquigen.

I Quickly modeled a optimized version of the Arch to use inside Liquigen, the refined a preset of viscous honey to better resemble wet paint and its viscosity. I exported it to Blender and tweaked the materials a bit, added a slight touch of subsurface scattering.
the color change is done with masking in After Effects for better control as the customer wanted several different colors to choose from.
